And lo, there was much fun at the Packer’s Game.
Especially since they won on the first play of overtime! Exciting!!
The ratio of Packers to Broncos fans was about 50/50. It was awesome.

The squoogy.com house is a Packers house (we have tickets to see the Packers vs. Broncos game next month, YAY!) so we were overjoyed to see Brett Favre break the all time touchdown passes record.

Wimbledon is going to start paying women winners as much as men.
WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Genteel, old-fashioned Wimbledon is steeped in tradition. There’s one custom, however, that has finally been discarded.
Women, at last, will be paid as much as the men.
After years of holding out against equal pay, the All England Club yielded to 21st century realities Thursday and agreed to offer the same prize money to both sexes at the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament.

I found this article about Laker’s coach Phil Jackson to be pretty fascinating. I think the author goes a bit too much into rant mode, but he does make some valid points.
Those of you who actually know me would find it laughable that anyone would try to define me based on some of the rather extreme music I listen to at times, but it happens, which is why this article struck a chord with me. Worth a read, at any rate.

I went to the Dodgers game on Sunday with our one & only Mark. There was much hilarity involving this, um, uniquely named player. Mark insisted he could top that, and spent much of the game trying to remember another player with a highly unusual name. The result was this.

A sports link!
Apparently the NFL has promised LA a football team by 2008. There’s speculation about who will be making the trip out here as it won’t be the Chargers. I personally hope it’s the Vikings, because my brother would be pissed. :)~

Still lingering in the aftermath of last season’s tragic playoff collapse, I’m glad some inventive Cubs fans have come up with another creative way to lift The Curse. I hereby approve.

There’s not much about the game (and who really cares about that anyway?), not a whole lot about J@net J@ackflop’s incident (and what was there made me snorf), but there was this description about Aerosmith during the pre-game show:
Things did not start auspiciously (do they ever?): some idiotic flack unwisely exhumed Aerosmith and turned them loose onto the stage for the pre-show. Aerosmith. These antediluvian fucks. Whose idea was this? Anyway, there they were, prancing ridiculously; they looked like the Living Avatars of Fruit Leather.

MeFi’s thread about the Cleveland Indians player who was “young and needed the money” is so very wrong.

[Rafael Furcal] turned just the 12th unassisted triple play in modern major league history Sunday night, a feat so rare the game once went 41 years without one.
